St Benets Abbey : Frames in the landscape
CREATE! at St Benets Abbey: was a day of creative activities for all the family organised by The Norfolk Archaeological Trust
Mark attached 10 picture frames to fence posts and sticks in the ground in a circular walk from the Abbey ruins. The route followed the river Bure to the south-east corner, along the boundary ditch, finishing with a view across the meadow to the Abbey.
Participants were presented with a choice of walking sticks to assist them on their stroll. They were asked to enter into a ‘stick hire contract’ which doubled as a record of their observations and comments.

St Benets Abbey
...a mysterious place, standing in the depths of the Norfolk broads, surrounded by wide open skies. The surviving earthworks, with the peculiar ruins of the gatehouse, are very atmospheric, heightened by the inaccessible and remote location. http://www.norfarchtrust.org.uk/stbenets
