Selected commissions and community art projects

 

Royal Mint Park Redevelopment : Spring 2006 : Mark created 5 glass and clear cast urethane paving slabs involving the local community.

Image & Identity : Summer 2005 : The project aims to engage vulnerable youngsters with museum collections and stimulate creativity. Mark worked with the Victoria & Albert Museum and Wandsworth Young Carers.

Lightbox project : 2001 - 2008 : Mark is the creator and co-ordinator of the highly acclaimed Lightbox Project, a community art project to improve Guy Street Park in Southeast London.

Hankey Place Community Sculpture : Summer 2004 : workshops with young people from the Tabard Estate to create a sculpture to improve the Community Hall.

Art Matters : Winter 2004 : worked with young people from Marylands Family & Adolescent Service to create artwork inspired by the Turner Whistler Monet exhibition in partnership with Ernst&Young, NCH and Tate Britain.

2005 - May Helped to create a 30m-diameter swan for the British Library bi-centinuary exhibition of Hans Christian Anderson for Theatre-rites.

2004 - December Helped to create an interactive installation Outside In for Theatre-rites at the Royal Festival Hall.

2004 - November Art Matters : Ran four art workshops with young people at risk with Maryland's NCH.

2002 - January - May Created an Interactive sculpture for a hospital for children with severe head injuries with the artist Lindsey Seers.

2001 - May Sculpture commission Cloud - light sculpture for East London SureStart with Muff architects
